I am thinking about the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" monitor but at this moment the G-Sync support is unlcear to me. There are 2 models available in my region: LS57CG954NUXEN and LS57CG952NUXEN with about 330,- euro price difference. the 952 is the cheapest but some sites list the 954 with G-Sync support in the specifications. Does that mean the 952 has no g-sync support? I have also heard that you can just turn gsync on and then it 'may' work.... well, thats not good enough for me to base my purchase on.

It's blocking my purchasing decision at the moment. Any advice on this is greatly appreciated!

edit:
From a shop I got the reply stating that the LS57CG952NUXEN is officially not g-sync compatible but it does work with it and that the LS57CG954NUXEN supports g-sync officially.

Well, at 330,- euro price difference, I need to understand more about the first option.....

Might be worthwhile to shoot Samsung tech support a message for clarity.

I have no specific experience with either one, but will say that "official" G-Sync support monitors are typically well more expensive than "G-Sync Compatible/FreeSync" monitors are, so if I were to guess the higher priced one based in that.

I purchased an AOC monitor a couple of years ago based in it's G-Sync Compatible mode and it really is nice and works as expected. I ended up being glad that mine is also FreeSync as I swapped graphics cards over to AMD and it works just as buttery smooth with it.

Had to poke around on a few webpages

: LS57CG954NUXEN
https://ecprof.com/monitors/ls57cg954nuxen-lcd-s57cg954nu-57-silver.html
AMD FreeSync YES
Nvidia G-Sync YES

LS57CG952NUXEN
https://shop.vb.net/en/SAMLS57CG952NUXEN/computer-monitors/samsung-ls57cg952nuxen
AMD FreeSync YES
Nvidia G-Sync NO
Yes, that's exactly what I mean. And from a samsung support guy (that I do not trust) I got that they both support g-sync and from a shop I got that they both support it, but the 945 does support it officially....

I also do think that it is strange that there are differences between these 2. Isn't it just firmware that makes that it supports it? Other people say that supporting g-sync is about testing. That means the 954 has been tested, and the 952 has not. If they are internally the same, then it should work.

So I think that I am mostly looking for confirmation that I can safely buy the 952 and still have g-sync. That saves me 330,- euro.

Found a few great articles here:
https://www.tomshardware.com/features/gsync-vs-freesync-nvidia-amd-monitor

Turns out that a lott of monitors with freesync works just as good with g-sync, however not guaranteed because it hasnot been tested/certified. So it can be true that Samsung only submitted the 954 for g-sync certification and not the 952.

Still in need of a confirmation that the 952 is exactly the same as the 954. One shop told me, the difference was only the country that it was sold in/imported to......
