[citation][nom]robochump[/nom]Good for Samsung, constant competition will breed better products. They do make multiple style smart phones with the Galaxy S III being their best seller. Funny thing is that droid fan boys call consumers of Apple iSheep because Apple is so popular. If Samsung is doing well then should their consumers be called SamSheep? Only makes sense....lol.[/citation]
That's where isheep can't see the difference. With Samsung, there's tons of options to choose from to suit everyone's budget. This is beauty of Android. If you don't like Samsung, you can still buy HTC. The entire family can have affordable phones that does all the same core functions. Of course, you pay more, you get more...bigger screen, faster phone, more storage, better camera etc. But nowadays, even the mid-range android can do everything smoothly.

But iSheeps will never understand the meaning of "OPTIONS". Because Apple will only do it their way. And force you to pay premium price for a small screen and each new generation basically have barely significant improvement.

Btw, i am still using my S2...damn happy with it and don't see the need of upgrade.

Android just isn't for everyone as its not as simple as ios. Some people just want basic/simple. Not me though, I like JellyBean and Go Launcher EX on my S3.

I totally agree with the 'marginal utility' poster. Absolutely hit right on the nail. Different people has different requirement and taste. Some even hate option. They got the money (be it from their hard earn salary, biz or parent) and they don't want to be confused with myriads of options (model, brand etc). In fact, when Samsung follow this trend by launching 1 flagship model for phone and 1 for phablet, they are more successful than before.

I personally use S2 (currently with the leaked JB) and Note 2. In my country, both of these phones are more expensive than their Apple counterpart (16GB) during their prime time. I like the option, flexibility and complexity of Android because my phone is my one stop computing center on the move. But, I can't stand Android's tablet build quality and UI fluidity (lack). For tablet, I just want it to work, battery last long enough (hence I dont need to bring the charger), solid build quality. I have to live with its 'severe' restriction (hate this) but since my requirement on the above factors are much higher than my inner geek desire, I bought ipad instead.

I personally believe that labeling people as iSheep or DroidFag is not right. It just shows your inner hatred. For some, they buy iPhone just for status (to be accepted among their peers) and what is wrong about that? They may be technical dumb (compare to you) but they probably good in other part (probably could sing better than you maybe 😀 ). And I tend to agree with the Apple superior support and for most non technical customer, this is a bliss to them. Why? Let say, John got prob with his iPhone. What he need to do is visit the Apple authorized shop. If they can't fix in in instance, they replace it. As simple as that. To my knowledge, not even single Android-based smartphone manufacturer could provides that level of customer support service yet...although I dearly hope they will catch up soon.

The bottom line is, people pay not only because of the device's spec but for many reasons as well. If spec and function become your top priority, doesn't mean the other Joe or Jane may feel the same. Having said this, I still hate Apple for their non-stop anti competitive lawsuit practice. Many of my friends migrate from iPhone to S3 and Note 2 due to this very reason... it looks like Apple is afraid the history will repeat itself..where IBM-compatible PC outsell Mac (although Mac started better and stronger). I still fail to comprehend why some peoples see iDevices as inferior products as much as some iDevices owner feel their device is superior to others. There is no such thing as ultimate product... just suitable product to your need/desire/budget/lifestyle.

/flyaway XD

Imagine the world without Android vs Apple vs Phone 8... I see less color there . Let these products compete in healthy way (much like AMD vs Intel and AMD/ATI vs NVidia) and we as the customers benefit from it 😀

The difference is AMD/ATI or Intel/AMD competes healthly and patents very real technologies which takes lots of real scientific research.....not a square with rounded edge or bounce back list when you hit the edge.

AMD and Intel do not make finished consumer level profits. Trust me if they did Intel would scoop up every patent they can. Just like every other tech company out there. Apple was just jumped at the opportunity to go for design patents as a tech company, the rest are following.

Man how I wish I could agree...if only it was that simple. If only Apple could just put all their money and energy into R&D and continue to crank out world-changing products. That would be a company I could really get behind...and even though their products are not my "cup of tea", an American tech company that truly leads the world by simply offering better products, even if they are more expensive, is a company I could really respect. Unfortunately Apple will never be that company. Instead they choose to compete by attempting to suppress competition. They dump all their money into patent litigation. Instead of driving innovation and forcing other companies to produce better products, they stifle competition by forcing other companies to dump most of their money into court costs and settlements. Apple has become the scary-stalker-ex-girlfriend of the tech world - "If we can't have it, no one can!". That's the worst part...it would be one thing if Apple would just quietly return to their niche following status...but unfortunately that's not the case. They've made it clear that if they're going down, they're taking the entire market with them.

As much as I don't like a Korean company taking over one of the most profitable sectors there is, i'm rooting for Samsung all the way because Samsung, with the help of Google, is the only entity that really has the ability to shut Apple down in the long run. It's going to be a long, shitty, expensive fight, but it's one that has to be fought if we want to see the tech sector remain open to everyone.

Yep, a small correction, we're sSheep 😉
Getting ready to get the rumor Samsung Galaxy S4 with flexible AMOLED. I'm currently petting my beautiful Samsung Galaxy S3 :)

[citation][nom]STravis[/nom]Nope, he means updates.. This is something you don't easily get with Android. iPhones don't get orphaned the same way Android phones do.[/citation]

Tell me something "NEW" and good that was introduced in iOS 6?
the crappy map? the useless passport? the lag of death? the short battery life of death?

Not blaming Apple here, but I think mobile OS dev has hit a wall. There are no more killing features.
My Nexus 7 upgraded to Android 4.2, I was excited for 5 minutes :)
My Galaxy S3 upgraded to Android 4.1.1, I was excited for 30 minutes :)
My gf's current iPhone 4S will never upgrade to iOS 6, NEVER~ :)

About 16.2 million iPhone 4S units were shipped during the period, which is down from 19.4 million when compared to the second quarter. The handset's share of worldwide sales, meanwhile, dropped from 12.7 percent to 9.7 percent. As for the device's successor, the iPhone 5, Apple's latest smartphone shipped 6 million units, giving it a 3.6 percent share.

fix iphone 5

I actually did quite a bit of research on these cell phone trade in programs, and www.smartphonecashin.com is definitely the highest paying site. They are also very straightforward and easy to use.
