Monitor: Samsung UE590D attached via Display Port
Intel I5 4690K
Asus Z97 Pro Wifi AC
16gb Corsair DDR3 memory
Asus Strix GTX 980 (running latest drivers)
Samsung EVO 850 SSD
Seagate 2tb hdd
Seasonic 750 watt PSU
Windows 10 64 bit
I have only had the monitor two weeks and it has randomly shut itself off about twice now. It just goes blank, no error messages, turning it on and off doesn't make picture return, its as if its not seeing a signal from the PC, Graphics card is only one week old.
Only way to get it back on is shut down PC and restart it again. The Samsung monitor booklet mentions that if you swap signals, you should unplug power of the screen while swapping the cables and then plug it back in after its attached to pc. I did this today after the screen turned off and while power board was unplugged.
I also installed the DP driver for the monitor.
I had a GTX 960 before the 980, I replaced it as it couldn't supply the signal needed to run HDMI 2.0 at 60fps on desktop, I assume the GTX 980 shouldn't have that problem. I haven't tried the HDMI cables out
I am not sure where to look, or what reports to attach,
I changed the power options for the pc last night - it had been using a Samsung performance setting that my ssd set but that was running CPU at max speed all the time, I swapped it to balanced.
I have set the monitor to always be on. Before it was set to turn screen off after one hour but I assumed that only applied to if pc was idling for an hour, not while I was using it. It has been on over an hour now since the restart.. probably just a coincidence,
