I too seem to be missing that warm and fuzzy feeling. The thing is working (shows in task manager). If I pull up the monitoring program I have to reactivate... I think I may ride it out and hope they really are working on a fix. This is why I usually don't buy things when they first hit the market... I'm having ME flashbacks now...... I'll post here if/when they fix it.

[citation][nom]sixthshadow42[/nom]Does it speed up boot very much?[/citation]

For me it made post to desktop in 8 sec. which was a big improvement. Still waiting on the software fix though....

Good to hear morbious. Unfortunately, while it sorta fixed my issue it's created a new one - go figure! Crossing my fingers for the next, haha. Also, FWIW, I seem to be getting decent support/or at least it doesn't appear as if I'm communicating with somebody from India. 😛

New Update:

I'm now running the full version of Win8 Pro. Got it from Dreamspark. The ReadyCache and it's software DO work on Win8. So if that was scaring anyone away, now you know.
I just installed it in the desktop view, restarted three times, and it's running just as well as it did in Win7 (after they fixed the software).

Good to know I suppose. I keep getting the $30 off "specials" from NewEgg. Don't really see much point adopting a new OS already though.

If I didn't get it for free through dreamspark I wouldn't have upgraded to 8. It wasn't a matter of needing a new OS for me. I'm a computer operator by trade and figured since it's free I should learn how to use it to keep my knowledge base up to date.

Ahh gotcha. I could use another OS/am in the process of resurrecting a system, though since it wouldn't be free the other one's just gonna get XP put back on it.

See where it states revision 2.6? No mention of backwards compatibility to SATA, or even early SATA 2. There is much more info refuting your claims at the source links if you care to learn something.
"

Sorry thats just stupid, sata is always backwards compatible.

Ram can only do so much, old pc's and all drives are slow, first you have to load things into ram before ram makes a difference. I guess assuming you open all apps and never close or shutdown the pc it doesn't matter much, but for normal usage, having faster io matters
