I am able to get the Sandisk Plus 240gb SSD for 40usd and the Samsung Evo 860 240gb for 80usd.

I know the Samsung SSD is much faster but may I know is it worth paying the extra 40USD for the Samsung one or should i go for the Sandisk one instead.

Worth is something only YOU can determine.
Sandisk is presumably cheaper for a reason.

Performance is not one of them. All ssd devices perform very well, you would be hard pressed to tell the difference.

You might compare the experiences of actual users by looking at the newegg reviews.
Look at the one egg reviews and see why the low rating.
Some reasons are valid, some are not.
