Sandy bridge + ECS H67H2-M

quick question before i drop a CPU into this mobo...

Do i need a K series sandy bridge for overclocking the IGPU on the ECS H67H2-M black deluxe mobo? and do you guys see the core i3-2100 as a good cpu for HTPC use - will later use it for medium gaming when i can drop a discrete GPU in after 6~7 Months.

Do you need a K CPU to overclock the iGPU when it's installed in an H67 board? Nope. But the K CPUs have a better iGPU than the non-K CPUs do -- the K iGPU has twice as many execution units, so it is more powerful.

And yes, that CPU is good for HTPC use. It produces lower heat than the faster models, but is still powerful enough for pretty much anything you can throw at it.

I want to throw in a xfx 5770 or a xfx 6870 BE (later down the road, maybe if i get a more powerful card than the 6870 BE) - will both of them run without a bottleneck on the i3 or will i need a higher CPU?

if you can find the i3-2105, then get that over the 2100, its got a HD3000 iGPU vs a HD2000 iGPU in the 2100

yeah i skipped that info - will see if i can get it in my country - Bangladesh

one quick question before BA is given - can i OC memory on this mobo?

Nope. H67 supports only 1066 and 1333 memory dividers. P67 or Z68 is needed for the dividers for 1600, 1866, and 2133 memory speeds.

Hmm - then i think one of my builds should be held off in favor of a Z68 board.
