Question Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX PSU Requirements

I was hoping that my current PSU would be sufficient (I am currently running my PC with a rtx 3080).
Would a Corsair HX1500i be a good PSU choice?
You don't need to replace your RM1000i that came with a 10 year warranty. That PSU is totally fine for your setup and you can use it for a couple of more years. Replacing about a year or 3 is early enough except if you upgrade the GPU to an upcoming high-end nVidia that needs two 12v-2x6 pin connectors.

Hello Mingusus. A seven year old 1,000 watt PSU is more than sufficient to power your 14900K build with a RX 7900 XTX. By the way, I also contacted Corsair support on behalf of your inquiry, and they agree with my statement above. Happy gaming my friend.

FYI: Your RM1000i appears to be covered by a 10 year warranty:

While @--SID-- and @rcald2000 may technically be correct, consider this. PSUs do degrade over time, that is a fact that none here will deny.

If you are spending the kind of money you are to build a high-end system with new components, one of those should be a current PSU.

You may be fine , as is, but why accept the risk? Keep your current PSU as a back-up device and get a new one would be my advice.

Thanks for all your replies :).
I am not building an entire new PC BTW. I am just upgrading my GPU.
I think I will keep my current RM1000i PSU for now and replace it in a few years time.
