Question SATA Drives disappeared

I have a Cyberpower Gamer Xtreme PC with an intel i5 running windows 10. It has a 500GB solid state drive and I had 2 sata hard drives for storage/backup.

Right before Christmas my largest sata drive stopped working. It was a 4 TB drive and was only 6 months old at the time. I've had good luck with hard drives so I assumed it weas about time I got a bad one so I shrugged it off.

Last night my other sata drive stopped working. It was a 1 TB drive and quite old.

Today I checked device manager and the only thing listed is an intel chipset sata raid controller. the driver is up to date. They wont even show up in the bios. I ran system restore butt the only restore point I had was this morning at 5 am.

I even tried to 'rescan drives' using the MMC.

I am clueless.

check both data and power cable?

Yes. I even changed them to another pair. I have 4 sata power cords and 4 sata data cords.

generic psu? replace that

I have a EVGA SuperNOVA 650 GT, 80 Plus Gold 650W that I bought for another PC.

Another thing I should mention is that I have been hearing the sound of a USB thumb drive connecting and disconnecting randomly when I am gaming. I don't even own one anymore.

Tried a brand new sata drive and it wont even register in the BIOS.

I can feel the SATA drive spinning up, so it is at least doing that.

change the port on the motherboard?

I tried 4 of the 6 that I have. The other two are under the graphics card.
Still wont register. Neither will a new sata drive I tried.

I dont want to change power supplies except as a last resort.

shouldn't need much to power a hdd. probably the motherboard
