This is probably stupid but... I installed a WD 80G SATA drive in my PC. It shows up in the device manager and says its working properly... but it doesn't show up in "My Computer". It is connected to the SATA 1 port on my ASUS P4P800E MB. I have 2 HDs on my IDE1 and 2 optical drives on my IDE 2. Any thoughts... help. Thanks.

Go to the Administrative tools in the control panel. Then open up the Computer Management. Then along the left side of the window you will see Disk Management. Click on that and it should list your hard drives. It may just be that it needs to be formatted, which you can do it from there. Hope that helps

You might notice that it shows up in Computer Management as a dynamic disk. Right click on the drive and change it to a basic disk. Then you'll need to partition and format it, after which it'll appear in My Computer.

I think what you may have to do is intall the RAID drivers on your mobo CD from within Windows, then enter the RAID utility at boot up and configure the disk as a single disk array. That is what I've had to do on my Asus P4PE.
