Hiya.
So I wanted to access old files and pictures etc on an old sata internal drive but only have a laptop currently so I decided to get a usb 3 dock.
I put the hdd in the dock, connected it to the laptop and powered on. The drive showed up in windows/file explorer no problem. I looked through a couple of folders and came across some old pictures that I wanted to delete. I selected the files and deleted them. Seconds later the whole drive disappeared from windows explorer and i haven't been able to get it back since.
It doesn't show up in disc management.
The drive shows in device manager but that it is not connected.
I've tried deleting USB controllers from device manager and rebooting but still doesn't work.
It's quite an old disk and I think it has a windows xp boot partition on it from when it was used in my old tower which I no longer have.
Any help would be appreciated 🙂
