I have a sata hard drive that is failed. I want to connect an ide drive instead, because it has a working copy of windows xp on it. When I plug in the drive it won't reconize it in the cmos settings. I have set it to master and plugged it in. I have also set it slave with the other drive connected.
Do I need to reset the mother board? move jumper settings on the motherboard? or just get a sata drive and try again with the sata connections?
