SATAIII speed on SATAII MB

So i have read a few forums on here about using a SATAIII SSD on a SATAII mobo and everyone says how there is this huge loss in performance. To me it is obvious that the SATAIII wont work at SATAIII speeds, but will it at least achieve very good speeds relative to SATAII speeds?? i hope that makes sense.

Yes it makes sense SATA III SSD's perform overall better than a SATAII SSD's on the SATA II interface since they can max it out.

^+1. Not only will the SATAIII drive be able to max out the bandwidth, but they're usually faster internally; they will push more IOPS for small reads than SATAII drives.
