Saving space on new SSD

I recently installed an SSD (120 GB) and migrated windows over. The SSD is now the C drive and I'm using the old drive for storage.

My issue is, space is very limited on the SSD. Some of the programs I'm reinstalling do not give me the option to install on my storage drive (Now labeled H), they automatically install on the C drive.

Any ideas on how to prevent this? Would it cause a slew of problems to rename my SSD and change my old drive back to C just so nothing else installs on the SSD?

I'm pretty computer illiterate, so sorry if this makes no sense.

Yes just changing drive letters will cause a lot of issues. A 120 GB drive is too small if you are installing more than a few programs on it, although it's a bit odd that programs won't let you change the drive letter you are using. You can change the default path in the registry, make sure you first backup the keys before editing them http://www.thewindowsclub.com/change-default-program-files-directory-windows .
