Hello guys, the last 3 months my PC is having random PC hardlocks mainly while gaming, my screen just freezes and i can't use CTRL-ALT-DEL, my mouse freezes also, but the sound is going on in the background. I have tried basically everything in this 3 months to fix it but nothing helps. Today after the freeze in a game i restarted my PC and checked event viewer for some more information and i found this error that caused my PC to freeze:

SCEP Certificate enrollment initialization for WORKGROUP\DESKTOP-M1H3M3S$ via https://AMD-KeyId-578c545f796951421221a4a578acdb5f682f89c8.microsoftaik.azure.net/templates/Aik/scep failed:

My specs:
CPU: AMD RYZEN 9 3900X
GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX OC RX 5700XT
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VIII HERO WI FI
RAM: 2X16gb 3200mhz G.SKILL - F4-3200C16-16GTZR (MODEL)
COOLER: NZXT KRAKEN X62
PSU: CORSAIR RM850x
SSD: SAMSUNG M2 980PRO 1TB

The issue started 3 months ago, i tried to clean install win10, then clean install win 11, and again now clean install win 10, but nothing helped. I did a fresh install of win 10 now, with the default BIOS settings, nothing is overclocked, RAM is on 2133mhz and again i have freezes... I have the latest BIOS and drivers. Thanks to everyone who will try to help :)

That isn't windows. If the problem exists on win 10 and win 11 on clean installs, its hardware.
Do you get any BSOD?

Need to test hardware

CPU: Run Prime 95 over night, it takes about 17 hours
https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/prime95-download.html
Prime 95 Instructions - https://appuals.com/how-to-run-a-cpu-stress-test-using-prime95/
I don't know if its a GPU error, since you looking in event viewer for the cause I assume you would have seen something about GPU drivers in there. Does anything show in reliability History apart from hardware errors caused by restarts?
Can't really test Motherboard, you check everything else and work backwards
ram - Should test it but it would cause more than just freezes
SSD - It could cause freezes. Shame the 980 doesn't work with Magician.
try running crystaldiskinfo (blue icons), it will auto show smart score = https://crystalmark.info/en/

@Colif The first time when the freezes started i didn’t have BSOD, but after some time i did have BSOD like: The operating system couldn’t be loaded because the kernel is missing or contains errors. \windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe
error: 0xc0000221 and BSOD like: 0xc0000428 and: The header checksum for this file doesn’t match the computed checksum. File: \Windows\system32\winload.efi, error code: 0xc0000221.
Now i did a fresh install of windows 10, i have no BSOD, only hardlocks while gaming, the same thing when all of this started, first hardlocks and after some time i did have BSOD. Now after a fresh install of win 10 only hardlocks for now. Hardware tested for a whole month now, everything working fine. I didn’t check the reliability monitor if you mean on that. The SSD is new, i swapped it with the old one trying to fix this issue… Maybe it can be a fTPM issue causing this?

Thanks for this thread. A google search with that error link today brought me to this thread.
I really hope it's as simple as a new chipset driver, its unfortunate that the ones I've been using are the ones direct from ASUS.
They're massively outdated for such a prevelent bug (nor did I know that AMD did direct distribution for them.)

All of this because of "misconfigured our attestation server, for well over a year now."

There's also a new AGESA bios released 1-3 weeks ago for the AM4 platform. Might help as well.

Thank you OP and Colif for the information, hopefully I won't need to return.

regarding that SCEP error
updating chipset driver supposedly fixes it - https://community.amd.com/t5/proces...p-certificationregistration/m-p/544863#M48203
@Colif i disabled TPM in Bios but didn’t help. Again PC hardlocks while gaming. I did check the reliability monitor but no information there. It’s only saying that the previous system shutdown was unexpected just like in the event viewer because i needed to force shutdown my pc. Tried to see in windows power shell for more information but no help there. Can freesync premium cause the hardlocks? Because when i buyed the Alienware AW2521HFA the PC started hardlocking…
