Hi this doesn't always happen but when it does its when I turn on my PC it starts flashing grey or green lines all over the screen then it restarts and is fine after that. I've just built my PC recently so if somethings faulty i'd like to be able to return it asap. Cheers
Specs
CPU : I5 7500
GPU: MSI RX 480 GAMING X 8GB
RAM: 8gb DDR4 2400 2x4GB
Motherboard: MSI B250m Bazooka
PSU: Superflower Golden Green HX 550w

Solution
It's the card buddy. Sorry. I had the same symptoms. it's a very weird bug that's probably caused by a manufacturing blip.

My 480 would crash, reset and I heard the fans ramp up to 100% before going back to 0% RPM. It's the GPU. RMA it.

I re seated the gpu and changed the video cable and its still doing it?

Sometimes it restarts and sometimes it flashes for a split second and the fans are spinning on the GPU blowing the hot air out into the case and no when gaming the temps are in between 40C and 55C

Yeah unfortunately this was actually a software issue at one point near the end of last year. AMD fixed it with a hotfix update. For those that still had issues, it was most definitely a hardware issue. Unfortunately, I was one of them. Happens.

Did you get another RX 480? I'm returning mine should I get another?

I've RMA'd mine recently. Will get a replacement in a couple of weeks. Yeah return yours.

Yeah apart from this problem it's a superb card

Yeah it certainly is. 980 performance for about $200 is pretty damn good. The RX480 in Vulkan really shines. A pretty damn good card for the money.

:)

Hello again I got a new card and the artifacts are still there? Did the artifacts still happen when you got your new card?

I haven't received my replacement yet as I RMAd through to OEM instead of the retail store. (Warranty period from store expired).

This may well be a software issue or perhaps they sent you another faulty card.

Try the following:

Uninstall old GPU driver with Display Driver Uninstaller. Do what it recommends. Download the latest driver from amd's website. Don't use the one you used before.

Whats the website link? I installed them from AMD's website before but probably did it wrong.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+10+-+64

That's for Windows 10 64bit.

Download the largest driver. Which is 17.2.1. See what happens.
