Hello

2 weeks ago I bought a new Asus ProArt 4070 Ti OC and periodically i see strange artifacts that looks like this "effect" during scene switch:

I've tried to record it but no luck, lol. Mostly it happens when i screenshare a movie in discord to watch together with a friend. When i play in league of legends i have zero problems, also played cyberpunk for 5~hours and there was not a single artifact(also tried in hunt showdown while streaming it in discord), tried running furmark stress test for 10 mins without a single artifact, same goes for 3Dmark stress test.
Any idea what it could be?

Before this new gpu i had a 1070 Ti and it was working fine, everything else is the same.

I've tried:
  • reinstalling gpu drivers with DDU,
  • reinstalling my media player classic
  • changing dvi cable to another one.
  • turning on\off hardware acceleration in Windows\apps.

Could it be a possible problem because of my old display or its a discord problem?(Dell u2412m but as i said 1070ti worked flawless on this display) but today i've got same artifacts while watching stream so probably its not a discord issue.
Hope you can help me because i feel a little bit sad.

In video - those are video compression artifacts.

You need to photo artifacts on your screen (not some random video from internet).
Its impossible to make a screenshot of those artifacts because they happen not very often and for 0.2-1 second maximum, ive tried to capture with nvidia replay but they didnt happen, and i dont have much space on ssd's to keep capture for 24\7. But mine artifacts looks exactly like this effect in youtube video

use ddu uninstaller and reinstall latest nvidia.com driver
update the BIOS

How its even possible to make a photo\video of artifact that happens like 0-2 times per day and only for a half of second?
If it happens so rarely, you can't even catch it,
then just ignore.

Anyway - it can be:
video compression artifact,
bad video cable/bad connection,
bad monitor,
bad graphics card,
corrupted drivers.
Without actual photo/video from your pc - it's not really possible to tell more.

I've already tried ddu uninstall 3~ times, and upgraded bios 2 days ago for mobo and still got this problem today

It happens rarely, but it can happen like 10 times per 40 minutes which is super annoying when watching movie\video or 0 times per day(they are very random). I feel like they are appear more often during "colorful scenes". Ive tried already 2 displayport cables from different companies. I feel like maybe my monitor displayport is bad

which movies exactly? streaming?
your internet connection could be at fault as well
they are downloaded on my ssd, internet couldnt be a problem
for example in movie "Gatlopp" i had alot of those compression artifacts felt like 15~per whole movie, "RRR" had 2-3 in first 15 mins after which i close movie, and movie "Pandorum" had not a single one aswell as "Boss level" but i think its just a rng. To be clear if i rewind problematic scene and watch again - there will be no artifacts so its not corrupted files, and since this happened once in game and couple times in browser its not exactly movies problem

It's a codec issue.

DDU, then reinstall video drivers (like the first person said). If it persists, contact Nvidia.

I've tried 3 times already DDU, i did like the program said 1-load in safe mode 2- launch ddu, uninstall drivers+disable safe mode+restart pc 3.-let windows install drivers\remove drivers from programdata so i could download and instal them by myself from nvidia site
i feel like im doing everything right, i even downloaded "driver easy" to check maybe im missing anything and updated every single driver in my pc aswell as mobo bios and this thing happened again to me today once
p.s.- i checked now the quarry(earlier i said i had in quarry artifacts too) walkthrough and it was in-game weird looking water that looked like artifacts, so i guess this problem really only happens in player\twitch\youtube etc. sorry for my english
Where are these movies downloaded from?
Im not sure it matters? Since im getting same problem on youtube and twitch too.
But i finally made Nvidia instant replay record to work properly, so i will have soon video of those strange artifacts so it will be easier for you to help me.
Thanks alot guys for your responses, i hope we will manage to fix my problem.

What video card did you own prior to the 4700?

so i finally recorded those artifacts

and this is playback of same scene again, so you wouldnt think its a corrupted file

Not sure if this is relevant but i noticed when i open up player in full screen i can see old windows 7 theme(?) for couple of frames, and im using windows 10
i had to record, slow video and watch by 1 frame so i could even screenshot it

maybe its completly fine idk

Anyway - try updating codecs.
Use Shark Advanced codec pack
.
I am already using latest version of K-lite codec pack, is there any difference at all?
Also do they even affect browser player?(since i had a problem on yt and twitch)

Ok, here is what I want you to try.

On YouTube there is a function to disable hardware acceleration. I want you to disable that, and see if it clears up the problems on youtube only.

I'm trying to narrow stuff down, so please humor me.
Not sure how to disable hardware acceleration for youtube only(even googled still no idea lol), but ive already tried disabling HA in chrome settings. Artifacts happened only once on youtube and it was when HA was turned off if im not mistaken. Also HA disabled in windows settings and everywhere else, i guess i can try turning it off in media player too. I guess it will be a best idea to test things in my media player since artifacts happened most of the time there compared to browser(only 2 times in browser vs 20-30~ times in player)

Ok, are you doing any kind of overclocking. CPU? Memory? Graphics card?

If you are, turn off all overclocking and see what happens.
