Screen first turns on and no sound until it resets.

I hope this is the right area for this question. I put a new graphics card in my computer so i could route my audio/video signal via HDMI through my Onkyo receiver to my Sony Bravia LED 3D TV (sound through the 7.2 surround). The problem I am having is that when I first turn on my TV/Receiver, there is no sound. After a while(2-30 minutes) The screen will go blank and come back on, text will briefly appear on the screen that says "Scene selection has changed" and from that point forward I will have sound. What in the heck is going on here? I have updated my drivers/software for the graphics card, and sometimes it will just never reset. Very annoying when you turn your computer on you want to watch a video or listen to music but there will be no sound until the screen blanks out and resets or whatever is happening. Please help! Forgot to mention that my graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series
