Twice now my screen has gone completely black, and the PC is still running. Fans stay at the speeds they were, and Windows is also still running from what I can tell.

The first time, it happened after the PC was on for a couple of hours and then left to sit for some 20 minutes, and the second happened while I was web browsing.

The monitor does not turn off, rather the screen renders black over the entire screen. This system was just built days ago. The GPU has been fine during gaming sessions and video-watching for hours, and this issue is 'solved' by forcefully powering off the machine and restarting it.

The GPU is an AMD R7 260x with most recent catalyst drivers, and I have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Any help is appreciated. I'll give you a cookie. ( a physical food-type cookie, that is. :D )

OP, are you still under the impression it is the GPU? I also have this issue and I have a Radeon R7 260. Unfortunately I did not find this forum in time and I bought new ram and a ssd and reinstalled my os only to have it happen again. The GPU was some weird Best Buy special. Doubt I have the reciept still. If the beta drivers work that would be great.

I think I found a solution!!!!! I had a similar problem for a long time and I could never figure it out.

After I overclocked, I found out my system actually seems to be more stable! I think this is because of adding more voltage to the CPU! It needs further testing but maybe applying just like +0.01 volts to a NON-overclocked CPU could fix this.

If the problem is GPU related how would OC'ing the CPU help? Do you mean increase the voltage to the GPU?

I've got the exact same problem. My monitor turns black, and the led on the monitor goes from green to orange, indicating there's no signal. After a while, it will also say "no signal". Computer is still running tho.
This happens only during gaming, which made me think it was the graphic card. However, Ive run several gpu and cpu stress testes, and it all seems okay. I've also replaced the graphic card, and the problem persists.

I've got no idea what to do now.

Ps. Is a pretty new build. Problem have been from the very beginning.
