Question Screen going black, fans spinning at max capacity, what can I do more?

Hi all!

I'm having an issue with my desktop, at random (during games, when putting desktop to sleep, watching YouTube, ...) my screen goes all black, fans start spinning very hard and i can only reboot by hard shutoff (5sec power button)

Bit of a backstory, a few weeks ago I discovered my CPU cooler had broken off and was only loosely fitted to the CPU, I guess this is when this started happening. I installed a new CPU cooler, keeps CPU under 60 degrees when stress testing, which seemed fine at the time as no crashes where occurring.

But the crashes came back, could it be my CPU got killed by the improper cooling?

Things I have tried so far (most from https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/screen-goes-black-with-fans-running-at-full-speed.3761221/):
- Update BIOS
- Refit GPU and cables to GPU (clean with compressed air)
- Install new drivers (Chipset, Lan, Audio, Raid)

I can't seem to recreate the crash on purpose, stress testing CPU/GPU/RAM gives only positive results.
Has anyone ever had this happen and how did you fix it?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Update BIOS
Did you clear the CMOS after you'd verified that the BIOS was flashed with the latest BIOS version?

Install new drivers (Chipset, Lan, Audio, Raid)
Did you install the drivers in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator? If you've used DDU, you should remove all GPU drivers, Intel, Nvidia and AMD and then manually install with the latest version sourced from Nvidia's support site, in an elevated command.

I did not clear the CMOS, i will try this first and let you know.
Drivers where installed as admin, DDU was used in windows safe mode. GPU driver & CPU driver also installed as admin
