bought a Polaroid 4K tv a while ago. Graphics card does not support 4k so its running at 1080p 60hz at the moment.

While watching videos the screen tears pretty badly. Ive tried enabling V-sync via the nvidia control panel but that did nothing.

not sure what to do. All help is appreciated

Question from RenegadePC : "Screen Tear 4k TV running at 1080p 60Hz"

Look for a "game" mode, refresh rate, disable "special" effects,
if you look at the user guide of your tv, you should find it.

Do you have the model name / # of your tv ?
I'll go download the user manual and look into it for you.
Do the same at your end.

Also what kind and model of graphic card , do you have ?
Answer today, and i'll have time to look into it.

Later

Danny.

Your graphic card need's to be changed, wait for prices to come down, and
buy yourself a NVidia 1070... or an AMD RX 580.

Make sure the rest of your computer can supply the performance and power needed.

When you get tearing , what's your frame rate ?

So the graphics card is causing the tearing directly or is it the frame rate as the card cant keep up? As for what the frame rate is I wouldnt know. The tearing happens when watching movies and such so I'm sure the frame's will be over 60 anyway.

It's a question of sync, what you experience is most likely caused by a mismatch of
refresh rates between your TV and your videocard.

I looked for the manual of your tv, and could not find it ?
Give me a link, so I can download it.

A normal NTSC signal is 29.97 frames/s,
PAL, is encoded at 25 frames/s

are your movies encoded in PAL ?

I'll check back later Sunday....
