I built my gaming PC a few years ago, it worked fine however lately, every once in a while my screen turns off, fans get really loud and music/sound keeps playing. The weird thing is if I am playing game or watching a youtube video, the sound keeps playing fine through speakers and if I press controller or spacebar, it actually controls whatever media that I was playing, I can hear it. I replaced the CPU thermal paste and no luck, fans and computer is fairly clean, also when I put the computer flat on the table, it usually goes for longer until that problem arises again, what could be causing it?

Solution
Try removing your GPU then plug your monitor to your motherboard and use the integrated graphics. If the problem is gone that's your GPU. If it stays it could be your PSU, the monitor or the cable of the monitor.
