Hello,

My Seagate GoFlex 1TB external hard disk data's got erased after connecting to Digital TV Setup Box USB Port. I was trying to record a TV programme into the external HDD. Please help me to know why this happened.

Since you have not provided the type box you plugged into this is my educated guess. The box may format a new drive by default or it may create a new partition by default. Does the box support this feature? What brand/model box did you plug into. I have a cable box with a usb port and when I asked I was told it is for diagnostics not a output/input for additional devices. That's why I asked if the box is designed to let you plug an external HD into it to record on. When you connect the drive to the pc what does it show?
