I bought a seagate Barracuda 2TB about 2 years and a few days ago it just died...It started producing the clicking noise and when i tried to disconnect it and reattach it the HDD makes the clicking sound and doesn't get detected....
now i have to buy a new 2TB hard drive...i need to know if i should buy another barracuda or go for the Seagate 2TB SSHD...I am going to use the new hard drive as a secondary drive for storing my data. I am not looking for blazing fast write or read speeds. I just want the drive to last the next 4 years or more.
I have read that the SSD does not have a very long lifespan. And since the seagate SSHD has an internal 8GB NAND SSD i would like to know will the SSHD die on me in a few years if i am reading, writing or copying large amounts of data (like movies, games etc)??
Please share your experiences and let me know your advice...
