Seagate Sata 6gb/s into external storage

If I turn my Seagate 2TB SATA 6gb/s 7200rpm, 3.5" HDD into an external drive with a SATA to usb cable, how do I figure out if I want USB 2.0 or USB 3.0? Thank you.

The fact that it'll be USB 2.0 or 3.0 will be down to the adapter you use.

But for all intents and purposes you should go with a USB 3.0 adapter.

make sure that you get a usb 3.0 or USB 3.1 external case , and make sure it supports UASP mode for faster transfer.

Also make sure it is win 10 ready
