Windows isn't the problem, BIOS is. See the post above by SpunkyMonkey.

is it made with 2 1.5 TB drives? i wasn't aware of any HDD maker releasing a straight 3 TB drive.

either way, you cannot boot off of it either, and as far as external storage goes, I would rather have a flash drive... unless the eHDD is USB3.0 or eSATA III.

It would be nice if LTO5 tape drives were around the $500 mark so that backing up 3TB of data is more affordable. If a 3TB hard drive crashed without any backups, I would cry.

are you really that thick in the head? people who buy this are not looking to boot off this drive, I have 2 Sandforce SSD in raid0 for that. They are used for storage/backup/nearline operations, where capacity/inch ratio is really important. People who uses these drives are ones usually in the digital media/professional industry. I currently have a bunch 2TB drive holding my videos, pictures and music and its getting full. and I was hoping they'd release a 3TB soon, this is a godsend for me. for the regular "john /bob" dumsumers like you, just move along. move along....

Not interested in 1.5/3TB capacities. I see no reason. I may get a new drive when 4TB 7200RPM drives with low failure rate and a decent price come.
