Hello everyone, after installing the KB5031356 update, the search highlights icon thing on the right of the search box refreshes every single minute, which results in the icon fading away for a few seconds and then reappearing and flashing. Needless to say that it's extremely annoying and distracting.
It's also strange how this is not happening on my other computer which got the same update. I have looked through the registry keys for search on both machines and all the values are identical except for the "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SearchSettings\IsDynamicSearchBoxEnabled" key which on my main system is set to 1 whereas on my other system it's completely missing. Not sure if that has anything to do with how often search highlights refreshes.
I don't really know what to do here, the only workaround for now is to simply disable highlights. Has anyone encountered this behavior? Any possible solutions?
