ok, i m hijacking this thread a little now....
i have a new seagate hdd and i connected it witha sata. and it works fine and everything, but i read on newegg something about a small jumper to utilize full 3 gb/s,the problem is though i see it but its not on the actual sata connector. its kinda on the side. so whats it for. will it matter if i take it off or not. is there some other connection one would use for it? or is it just a way of making sure the older mobos with 1.5 gb sata work?

If your mobo will take the 3gb/s, then take that jumper and throw it away. Yes... it is there to make it run at 1.5... thus helping with compatability.

Keep the jumper handy... just in case 😉
