Need some assistance before i chuck my monitor out the window. Everything worked fine on my second monitor then today. NOTHING. The monitor powers on and displays no signal detected (I've tried swapping the cables and booting it up with just that monitor plugged in still have the same issue) Windows display settings and Nvidia settings detect the monitor but windows says it isn't active and Nvidia wont let me tick the box on setup multiple displays.

Main monitor ROG PG348q
Second monitor XB280HK
GPU 180TI

Any help is much appreciated.

What might have changed since all was well?

Is the DP cable good and securely locked on both ends?

Past that, it might be time to contact acer about a rma.

I've checked both ends of the cables and used the one that is working with my other monitor and still nothing. I just don't understand why it's picking up the monitor in my settings but its not receiving the signal? I've had the monitor a good few years so it will be well out of the manufacturers guarantee.

My theory:
Your graphics card adapter knows that there is a cable attached.
That is why windows knows about the monitor.
The monitor knows that there is a cable attached, but is not able to communicate with the graphics adapter, hence "no signal detected"

If you have more than one input to the monitor, then possibly the monitor is set to the incorrect input.

Otherwise, I suspect that the monitor has gone bad and, indeed, it needs to be replaced.
It looks like a relatively new monitor so perhaps you can get it replaced under warranty.
3 years, I think.

Just find it odd that it was working fine and now it's not. Windows and Nvidia control panel are both picking up the make and model of the monitor but they are either not sending the signal or the monitor is goosed. I can't find my proof of purchase to send the monitor back so looks like i'll have to take it to an independant to have a look at it...

Ask about a rma regardless.
If you have the serial # they will know when it was made and respond accordingly.

Still no luck with the monitor and nothing back regarding RMA. I thought I'd see what happens if I booted the pc up in safe mode... All pops up fine and can access the monitor settings now. But still nothing when I load the pc back up normally!
