I'm struggling with a problem after i instaled one ssd and formated it with windows 10.
My second drive, Seagate 2tb hdd, appear on bios, but after windows boot it does not show.
I have to open device management and make a rescan, then it works good.
Also, i noticed that when i unplug it, windows starts like it should, in 15 seconds more or less, but when it's plugged windows take 1 or 2 minutes to boot.

I tried deleting old system partition to see if it could solve some conflict maybe, but no sucess.
Also ran a disk error check via chkdsk, but everything seems alright.

My pc specs:
Xeon e5450 @3.74ghz
4x2gb ddr2 @832mhz
Mobo: ga-p43-ds3l
Psu: cx430
Vga: gtx1050
Ssd: sandisk 240gb
Hdd: Seagate 2tb
(I tried running on stock clocks but problem persists)

Thanks for any help. I really dunno what's more to try.

When you installed windows, was the HDD unplugged?
If not then Windows may have written boot files to the HDD which then would cause your long boot time if the drive wasn't responding very fast.

I assume the HDD was your former boot drive. Have you tried unplugging the SSD and seeing if the HDD starts working normally again? If it's still bootable that is.

I ran a long test with seatools, and it returns no errors, everything seems alright. Also ran a "fix all long" but no errors are found apparently.

Yes, the HDD was plugged when i installed Windows on ssd. I deleted the hdd partition where windows was installed soon after formating, and cant boot with hdd alone anymore.
Btw, after the first boot, if i restart, i wont have the problem of boot taking too long anymore.

Still no solution for this problem, i tested with another motherboard/cpu, and they often refuse to boot with a black screen(boot from ssd with hd as secondary drive), i tried looking for a firmware update but I'm not sure if the one i found is for this exactly model... Its a "ST2000DM001" guess i will try anyway if i dont get any help, or just buy another hdd when i can...
