So, back in the day when product was just hitting i7's - e8400/e8500 vs. phenom was a battle that amd could be stronger for gaming. What I am wondering is, if that is still today????.. I see the Phenom ll is going strong still, so, I made an amd build, I already have a post for an Intel build. I just want to know performance wise, which is better. I remember the 6 core that came out was going strong and had a low price. Now, That my build is suppose to be in the $800.00 range.. I'm already over doing it. Please give me some advice as my memory for these parts have gone null since technology moves oh so quickly. (been 4 years almost 5) :/.
By the way, this build is a little off I think in my mind.
AMD:
Tower : NZXT Phantom 410 CA-PH410-B1 Black Steel $99.99
Motherboard : ASUS M5A99X EVO AM3+ AMD 990X SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX $149.99
Graphics Card : GIGABYTE GV-R787OC-2GD Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 $359.99
PSU : PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 750W High Performance $109.99
CPU : AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core $139.99
Memory : Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 $46.99
HDD : Seagate Barracuda Green ST1500DL003 1.5TB 5900 RPM SATA $99.99
Optical Drive : LITE-ON Black SATA DVD-ROM Drive Model iHDS118-04 - OEM $18.99
Total $1,025.... I thought I could make it just as good if not better than my Intel Build for alot cheaper but, it's actually only $80.00 cheaper. mmmmm
