So I was looking for a good motherboard and I saw a second-hand asus maximus motherboard for a cheap price. Is it smart to buy second-hand motherboards and what should I ask the buyer to make sure the motherboard is fully operational and not damaged in any way?
Pls help!

Newest chipset board at 30% cost, sounds way too good to be true.
70-80% for newest chipset, 55-65% for previous generation, 40% for generation before that is what I would expect.

At this point it is someone saying "hey, I got this one year old 30k car that I will sell to you for 8k but you cant drive it until you buy it!"
All depends on where you are trying to buy this motherboard from. Is it a reputed site such as ebay, amazon or aliexpress? Or is it from a direct-from-owner sale site, such as Kijiji?

A second-hand board can be just as good as a new board. It is simply used. Be sure to ask if it has been tested, and what is the terms for returning it in case of failure.

Used motherboard is just like any other used electronic device. As long as it works it can be a good bargin, but there are many shysters selling what they know to be a completely dead mobo "as is" or "not tested" so they can make some money.

As stated by others, a video of the motherboard posting is ideal (although that means they have to working a cpu and memory for that socket).

It's sold on a dutch site, named marktplaats (literally translated: marketplace). In the Netherlands the Asus maximus v111 formula is 344 euro and he is selling the mobo for 100 euro

This doesn't sound like a good buy...marktplaats is very badly rated... And the price is way too low compared to the base price.

As boosted1g said, it sounds like a scam. Unless you are able to confirm it is a quality seller, then I would never buy such a questionable board.
