Second monitor not sharp

I currently have a 2 monitor display and it used to run off of a radeon 6950. The card's fans broke, so while it is out I am using the intel HD 3000 to run everything. Now my second monitor, an old Dell E193FP, doesn't seem to be as sharp as it used to be. My primary monitor seems to run fine though. Anyone know why this is happening or how I can fix?

Well that's your problem, VGA is VGA, and as such if you go over 1280*1024 it will start to become fuzzy due to it's bandwidth limits, and the fact that it is an analogue signal.

There's a reason why the intergrated graphics isn't good for gaming and it's because there not very powerful and there basicly good for web surfing and productivity and displaying video. So when you get to things like two monitors and gaming the intergrated just doesn't measure up.

Thats the thing though... I can run my games (SC2, Civ V, SMNC, etc) at a lower quality just fine. I would think that running them would be a lot harder than making a monitor sharp in quality.

If your using VGA connector, that is why it is blurry.

The thing is that when you have a discrete card like Nvidia or AND has , you also get the control panel that goes with the cards and it's in there that you can adjust the settings. Like right now I have a 30" at 2560x1600 and a 27" at 1920x1080 and I can make sure that each one has the correct resolution by going into the Nvidia control panel and making the adjustments.
It sounds to me like the second monitor has a lower resolution and you need a way to make the adjustment to get it to the correct resolution. If you go into your windows control panel and under appearence and personalization select adjust screen resolution and if you have two screens there you can use the first dropdown bar to select each monitor and check if each one has the correct resolution.

DVI for my main screen (which is fine) and VGA for the secondary one that is fuzzy. The cables are the same from when I was plugged into the card, but the VGA also had a DVI converter on it.

Use a DVI or an HDMI cable if possible for both monitors. The VGA cable uses analog signals, which while under optimal conditions can output a sharp image, is not doing so. The most likely cause is the motherboard cannot output as clear a signal as your graphics card could.

@inzone: Tried that, didnt change anything.

@sk1939: That sucks 🙁 This monitor is at 1280x1024. Its not so fuzzy that its hard to read text or anything, but its certainly noticeable, especially compared to my very nice monitor right next to it, hah.
