Hello, I was wondering, my friend recently removed a second winlogon.exe process, (no he doesn't have more than one windows account), and it crashed, then he restarted his computer and it started up normally. Is it possible his computer his performing on a corrupt keylogged version of winlogon alone? Its located in system32.

Solution
if the system is still funtioning and the process says system on it then i think you should be fine it was probillary just a system glitch that created a mirror function just keep an eye on the process and make sure that it stays as one process and alway says system next to it.

hello, im the friend, I deleted one, when I restarted, there was only one left. My question is, can the computer still work perfectly with the keylogged winlogon being the only one? How do I know if I deleted the right one? The user name is SYSTEM.

Thanks for the answer.. but something also, if I right click it and click properties, it said the .exe was created after I recieved the computer.. like a day after.. should I be concerned?

sorry for the late reply been having internet troubles. i wouldnt worry about it the system probilary still had it in its memory that that task didnt exist so it created a new one,
if your really concerned about it then your best bet is download a few different anti virus and anti malware and scan ur entire harddrive. ( if you do this then download install use and unistall before u move onto the next one as having more than one anti virus or malware can conflict between them and stop each other from working properly.
