Question Security and Browser for 98SE

I re installed and ran all available updates for 98SE on 1st computer I built in 2003. ASUS A7N8X-X, Athlon 3200+, 2 GB DDR 400 RAM. Need Browser that will run w/Socket A Processor (most will not). Any security available for 98SE? Any way to protect it behind a router or other device?

If I download things for 98SE on a Linux Machnine, is that any protection?

if you don't connect it to the web then it's very protected as is. you'd not even need any AV software.

if you do plan to connect it to the web, you're not gonna find any new AV software that runs on it. the problem would be when you found one that runs on win 98, would it also have been updated to latest threats? if it is not, and most likely it won't be, then it is not much good either.

not sure about browser , don't know what the current issue with socket A compatibility is so can't help there sadly.

Very few, if any, websites will work with anything that old these days.
