I have a quality color ccd security camera with a manual
focus all glass lens. What would i need to to convert this
camera into a webcam? Drivers & software? Will i get
better quality than my Philips PCVC 740K Pro webcam? My OS is windows XP.

You will need a capture card/device to digitize the images, and a
webcam program.

That's what I use as well... I have a USB capture device, into which I can
plug any type of "rca" video or S-video source. It makes it nice because I
have various little b/w security cameras, as well as a few different
camcorders - and the quality of any of them are better than what I've seen
from most traditional "webcams" as you think of them.

My USBLive thing doesn't have very high resolution, but it works good for
the 320x240 images and video that I like posting on my site. If I posted
any bigger pics than that, people could really see what a mess my house is.
*laugh*

Anyone that wants to see my cam...
