I'm getting a new gaming pc that cost me a lot of danero and wouldn't want to see it get damaged because I installed a game with trojans and viruses. My question , is everything I've seen on the internet true about securom and other security software damaging PCs I wanted to buy some games for my PC but I'm worried about this. Is it okay if I install Shogun total war 2 ?

Solution
I believe Shogun II doesn't use SecuRom and uses Steamworks instead, which won't horribly mess up your computer. I think the ones to avoid are some of the older versions of SecuRom, StarForce, and EA Origin, which is basically spyware for EA, as they are too lazy to do their own market research/want to make more money selling marketing data to third parties.
