Hey!

So I made a new build back in September, and have been getting what seems to be random BSOD's since. It varies, but it happens once or twice a day, on average. It might be a coincidence, but it does not seem to happen while gaming.

I have tried updating various drivers (realtek, video, LAN as well as every single one in device manager), windows update is up to date, BIOS is up to date, a couple of weeks ago i tried resetting windows, I've run sfc /scannow, I've run chkdsk, I've tried to run memetest86 but get blackscreen everytime (tried changing boot-options in BIOS, didn't help). Tried windows memory diagnostics instead with 10 passes, extended and cache on everything, which found nothing.
I've disabled fastboot, I've changed the system power settings.
XMP-profile was not set initially, but setting it didn't help either. I've tried moving the RAM-sticks from A2/B2 to A1/B1 and then to B2/A2.

I have not done any overclocking.

Hardware:

Motherboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite x570
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
SSD: Samsung SSD 970 EVO 1TB
RAM: G.Skill TridentZ F4-3600C17D-16GTZSW

Dump files: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1YKyVwygJvsA_dBkZIfgi3j9LVkPeHT5x
Memory-dump: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_xu7cNbrr77cncze-VB4kwqVFvdu8CE3

I have tried a lot of things from various threads on various forums, and still feel no closer to a solution.

I'd be grateful if anyone here can pinpoint the error.

The last two dumps were indeed produced from safe mode BSOD's.

Mads, it does indeed sound like we've had VERY similar issues. I might just try to contact the store I bought it from, and see what they'll say.

CPU is possible, you did run Prime 95 but tests aren't perfect

Some of these drivers don't make sense to be running in safe mode
Nov 12 2018 amdgpio2.sys AMD GPIO Controller Driver from Advanced Micro Devices http://support.amd.com/
Apr 24 2019 iqvw64e.sys Intel Network Adapter Diagnostic driver http://www.intel.com/
Apr 30 2019 AtihdWT6.sys AMD High Definition Audio Function driver http://support.amd.com/
May 21 2019 amdpsp.sys Advanced Micro Devices, Inc http://support.amd.com/
May 23 2019 AMDPCIDev.sys Advanced Micro Devices PCI Device driver
Oct 23 2019 tap0901.sys TAP-Win32 Virtual Private Network Driver 0901 (OpenVPN by OpenVPN Technologies) https://openvpn.net/
Nov 25 2019 e1r68x64.sys Intel(R) Gigabit Adapter driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
Jan 17 2020 atikmdag.sys ATI Radeon Kernel Mode driver
Jan 17 2020 atikmpag.sys ATI video card driver

especially the VPN driver? it is present in both and its not part of windows (as if it was, it wouldn't be showing on the list.)

TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 or OpenVPN driver or COMODO.

The last 2 dumps weren't on the same day, one was 28th & other 29th.. did you run safe mode on 2 days or just the one? They are several hours apart.

I probably haven't made it easy for gardenman to run the analysis, as per his last comment. The results he provided are not from the Safe mode dumps, it seems.

These are the Safe mode dumps: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AnVqCzqrKBXsqaF_G7_plfF2UrCt1w?e=MVD2au

Regarding the CPU.. As mentioned, a friend of mine has almost the exact same setup. If I could arrange for us to swap CPU's for a few days, we should be able to determine whether or not the CPU is at fault fairly conclusively, yes?

I ran the 2 new dump files through the debugger and got the following information: https://yokelishdonkey.htmlpasta.com/

File information:022920-5468-01.dmp (Feb 29 2020 - 08:52:45)
Bugcheck:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (A)
Probably caused by:memory_corruption (Process: explorer.exe)
Uptime:0 Day(s), 0 Hour(s), 00 Min(s), and 41 Sec(s)

File information:022920-5203-01.dmp (Feb 29 2020 - 09:03:31)
Bugcheck:IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (A)
Probably caused by:memory_corruption (Process: System)
Uptime:0 Day(s), 0 Hour(s), 07 Min(s), and 41 Sec(s)

This information can be used by others to help you. I can't help you with this. Someone else will post with more information. Please wait for additional answers. Good luck.

So all the 3rd party drivers there are actually ms drivers. Shows it has the 3 AMD drivers included in windows. We never see the EVBDA driver as windows can always find something better online

Date Driver Description
May 25 2016 evbda.sys Broadcom NetXtreme II 10 GigE VBD driver
Nov 12 2018 amdgpio2.sys AMD GPIO Controller Driver from Advanced Micro Devices http://support.amd.com/
Apr 30 2019 AtihdWT6.sys AMD High Definition Audio Function driver http://support.amd.com/
May 23 2019 AMDPCIDev.sys Advanced Micro Devices PCI Device driver

2nd driver crashed when it tried to load the windows kernel

irq errors with no 3rd party drivers..

lets wait for new CPU.

... I'm a moron, and I might have wasted a lot of peoples time..

My CPU cooler was not tightened properly.. That has now been corrected. We'll see if that was the issue all along. If that is the case, I am so, so sorry.

That's fair.

It's also not as much asking the question in the first place. Darkbreeze asked me to check this early on in the thread (which, tbf, I thought I did).

But yeah, fingers crossed!
