Hi, I have a home security system set up in my new home. I would like to set up the system to communicate with my computer and send a text to my phone when their is an alarm signal. I am looking to be pointed in the right direction for setting this up. My objective is to avoid monitoring fees and other service fees. This is of primary importance. I do not mind any hardware that may be required.

My first thoughts are to run a phone connection from the security system into a modem/wireless router and communicate with the computer and then set up some kind of configuration to send text. There is a lot of misinformation out there as a result of security ads. I really need to be pointed into the right direction as far as what hardware/software is required for each system.

Thanks for any help.

Hi.. you can opt for the CCTV camera with SD card so that you can see the all day happenings around your house or alarm monitoring security system connected to your phone line so if there is any security threat at home you will be informed.
it all depends on your security system

mines pretty simple 1 camera

i just run it through a usb capture card

the software allows remote ip access to a live feed and can send an email to my phone if the cameras triggered

only downside is your pc has to be on
