Selling PC: Delete RAID 0 instead of formatting?

Gentlemen.

Selling my rig and building a new one, and I must erase my two 3TBs in RAID 0 before I send it away. I'm aware of dban, but won't deleting the raid in bios pretty much serve the same purpose?

Seems way faster and easier than spending a whole day formatting.

Depends do you have sensitive data on there? If you don't do a full format data can be recovered if the buyer is tech savvy and has a reason to look for this. Multiple passes aren't really needed, just once through is fine.

I use D-ban at work and it can sanitize multiple drives at the same time.

Takes about 4 hours for a 500 gigabyte disk. Yeah we need bigger drives lol.

Just break the raid and run D-ban on all disks at once.

You mean a full format as in right-clicking and un-checking "quick format"?

Sorry didn't mean to say format. Sanitize is the more correct word.

For 6TB that is gonna take days though?

If 500 gigabytes take 4 hours then assuming the same write speed of the drive 3 terabytes should take about 24 hours to sanitize.
D-ban can sanitize both drives at once.

Note: Your drives probably write much faster than mine because mine are so old.
