Sennheiser Game One Pc headset mic issue

I recently purchased these to record gaming videos. When i go to plug it in in the back panel the realtek audio manager comes up and i select red for mic and green for headphones. i can hear just fine but my mic isnt working at all. I forgot to mention i'm using windows 10 as well.

yes, the headset itself isnt even there but the realtek speaker and mic options are and it says they're working properly

Make sure the mic isn't muted in either realtek driver or windows sound (registration tab).
