My system is five years old now and, as I am not a gamer, it still does everything I need it to perfectly.

Apart from everyday applications, it is mainly used for photography, video editing and music creation, where it still performs admirably, with one exception. The graphics card can no longer cope with the increasing sophistication of Adobe Lightroom Classic. Each new release taxes the card further, especially when multiple masks are required, to the point that it can at times feel almost unusable.

I am therefore looking for recommendations for a graphics card that will do the job. Obviously it needs to be compatible, but also not so advanced that it is out of step with the capabilities of the rest of the system.

Current system spec
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (overclocked to 4.2GHz)
ASUS ROG Strix B450-F
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650
64Gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM
Corsair RM750 750W 80 PLUS Gold power supply

I read NVidia cards generally perform better in Lightroom than equivalent AMD cards.

I’d say an rtx 5070 would be a solid upgrade for this system.

If Intel cards work well with Lightroom a b580 would also be a good match but you’d have to look into Intel cards playing nice with adobe software first.

Budget wasn't mentioned for the upgrade (nor location).
