Hi everyone,

How do i make sure the computer will shutdown if my CPU gets too hot?

Are there bios settings that do this,? I have changed a few things in bios to stop the CPU throttling if it reaches upper 50's c. I hope i have not changed anything in bios that will stop the pc from shutting down if the CPU heat gets too high for any reason.

My motherboard is an asus M5A78L USB 3

CPU fx8350

Clock speed 4000-4200mhz

Thanks for help in advance!

The FX8350 CPU will force shutdown at around 85°C - 90°C.
You should not allow the system to get that hot.
If you want the BIOS to shutdown the PC, then you need to set a max temp.

Thanks for the answer! If i dont make any changes in hardware monitor, what temp will the pc power off at? Is it cpu specific? On the amd website it says the fx8350 should not go over 61c, will the bios know this already?
