Hi!

Trying to set resolution to 1920 x 1080 on my PC Monitor and TV. Via the "Duplicate these displays" function. But no luck!

Video Card: GTX 970
Monitor: SyncMaster 226bw 22-Inch
Tv: Sony LED 52"
Connection: HDMI cable

The PC monitor goes up to 1680 x 1050 (which is weird because I believe it went to 1920 x 1080 before I upgraded card and mobo), the 1680 x 1050 on the pc monitor transfer to the TV, adding black borders on the TV screen. Not good!

I trial and errored the monitor plugins, placing blue plug from monitor into the video card (via adapter) and the TV THEN puts out 1920 x 1080 but now there's 3 screens to deal with in the screen options. With 3 screens I can't set them to duplicate or at least have the pc be 1680 x 1050 and the tv output 1920 x 1080. Example: http://i.imgur.com/f0uVgdg.png

Any suggestions? I can take pics for clarity if you want.

The native resolution for the pc monitor is 1680 x 1050. No problem!

But when I pick display: 1. SONY TV , and try to change resolution it is greyed out and set to 1680 x 1050. Native resolution for TV I believe should be 1920 x 1080, but I cannot change it!

Monitor drivers updated! Sony TV was already up to date. But no fix yet!.

Maybe I have to fiddle with the pluggins or something? Because if I connect both the white and blue plug into the video card, Sony TV lets me set the resolution to 1920 x 1080. Hmm. I'm lost! 🙁

Oh sorry. DVI connector (white) is plugged into the video card. The VGA connector (blue) is plugged into the motherboard. But if I plug the VGA connector into the video card, with a DVI adapter attached to it, I can set the TV screen to 1920 x 1080. Dunno if that's helpful at all :/ But that's what I ment

I'm just using the DVI connector now. Still no change, WHY YOU NO WORK COMPUTER!

If I select "Show Desktop on only 1" it does the right resolution for the TV. But it's incorrect when I have it as "duplicate these displays"
