Hello,

I am trying to setup a local USB Printer on PC1 as a shared network printer for PC2. Both PCs Win7. I do have a how-to but at a certain point it just goes wrong.

I have activated on both PCs:
- Turn on network discovery
- Turn on file and printer sharing
- Home network group

And on PC1 in printer properties checked that sharing is enabled.

Now, I go to add printer on PC2 and it recognizes the printer through the network OK. Next thing I get the message "driver not found" and it asks me to specify a location for the *.inf. The CD I have unfortunately contains only a 32bit driver and on PC2 64bit it says "installation failed". But according to Brother the built in Win7 driver supports this printer...

Now I am at a loss and can use your help.

Thanks in advance!

First try to manually install driver, when you select the printer and it asks about driver on one of the prompts there should be a "have disk" button. From that menu navigate to Brother, and then find your printer model on the list.

If that does not work then download 64 bit drivers from brother and repeat process.

Thanks for the reply. But if you read closely, that's what I did! Brother has no dedicated 64bit driver. The Win7 included driver is supposed to work, but doesn't.
