Should i buy gtx 960 or should i wait for gtx 1000 series to be released? Help please :)

my friend is thinking of buying new GPU and he is not sure if he should wait for gtx 1000 to be released or should he go and buy gtx 960 card? This is exact model he is planing to buy: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125777

4Gb will be good for more than one monitor... 2GB for single monitors, GTX 960's with 2Gb are at a great price/performance right now.

Nvidia has only released information about 1080 and 1070. Therefore we cannot say 1060 will be released soon. They may come together, or 1060 will come several months later, who knows. If not hurry, I'd suggest wait til GTC(on April 5~7) to see how will Pascal actually be. Then decide wait or not.

It isn't likely he will find a new Pascal offering in the $200 price range.

what card are you using right now? from my perspective and i use a gtx960 currently, having moved from a r7 260x previously, granted i still have the 260x, i won't be buying the 960 this late into the game.
