[SOLVED] Should i clean the Thermal paste of or leave it on?

I have to send my AIO for repair but I don't know what to do about the thermal paste should I leave it on the cpu till i get my AIO back then clean it or just clean it of straight away?

It's only been there for about 5 month and I was going to apply new paste but I was thinking should I leave it on so that dust and all that doesn't get on the cpu its self and just gets stuck to the pastel instead

Doesn't matter if it was on 5 minutes, clean and replace.

clean it then put a new one when the AIO is already there

Don't understand your logic. Dust is dust, it has the same effect whether on paste or on CPU. Nobody is telling you clean NOW, can wait until time to mount that AIO back.
