Really it's 433Mb/s on 5GHz and 150Mb/s on 2.4GHz. You'll want extra anyway if you use something like a media server in your home because although your internet speed is only 75Mb/s your files in your home network can use the full speed of the connection. Realistically you might get 200Mbps out of it if you're really close. Maybe 100Mbps out of the 2.4GHz side. I'd say it's probably just right for 75Mbps at the other end of your house.

I dont really understand how this works. Do u mean that each device i use may use 75mbps. so say that i have 10 devices and they are running on perfect 75 mbps speeds. Does that mean a 750mbps extender would be able to cover those 10 devices?

Each device can use up to the bandwidth you have available. That's 75Mbps from your isp. So if one device uses 75Mbps you'll have no more bandwidth for your other devices. That's kind of how it works. One device hogging the bandwidth will cripple your internet speed across your other devices. It doesn't matter how many devices are connected they will still be limited by your internet speed. If your extender could only output 75Mbps for example the signal might not be as strong in the other room so you'll probably have 40 or 50 mbps but right next to the device you might get 60mbps or so. Something capable of 600mbps might do 75mbps across the house as well as in the same room the extender is placed. The further away the weaker the signal and the more the Mbps the higher the throughput from further away. That's pretty much how it works.

ok so since i can only use 75mbps for all my devices, isnt 600mpbsextender excessive? would a 100mbps extender be sufficient for me?

It depends on how far away you want your signal to reach. If your signal is weak and you have a 600mbps connection you might get 50mbps out of it. You generally want it higher if you think you might be further away or if your internet speed is in the 200's.

i dont 100% understand but basically if i get a much higher gbps extender (say 1gbps) i can use up more speed for it? like say my PC and my phones can all use 70 mbps speeds?

1. They won't all be using that at the same time
2. You still only have a 75mbps pipe from Verizon, that all devices have to share.
