Should I get a UPS? If so, which one?

Hey guys, I will be building a new gaming setup in about a week (http://pcpartpicker.com/user/22vortex22/saved/kbcgXL) and I was wondering would you guys suggest a UPS? For some reason it seems like with this high end of a build they are highly recommended. Is that true?

Also if I should get one, should I get this one?

Yes. The newer one is compatible with the Corsair AX760i's Active PFC circuit.

I use a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD with my system because of the frequent thunder storms that sometimes cause power outages where I live. It allows enough time for the system to properly shut down without corrupting any files that were in the midst of being written to storage.

Whether or not it's worth it to you, only you would know.
UPS allows your computer to safely power down from a power spike.

Your PSU is good and im going to assume you are plugging your PC into a half decent surge protector.
Making those assumptions you have almost zero risk of power issues causing you to damage any equipment.
So now you are just worrying about OS corruption due to not doing a proper shutdown.
Thus you can decide if a UPS is worth it to you.
A 800 watt, 1350VA UPS would be about where you want to be to be able to shutdown if your PC was using a good 600 watts of power before the power failure.
Now if you want to keep the PC on for a while as well as other equipment (like networking) then you would need a much bigger UPS

X-bit labs review of the Corsair AX760i showed that their APC SmartUPS SC 620 stepped approximation to a sine wave UPS would not switch over to battery backup mode. That indicates an incompatibility with the PSU's APFC circuit and the stepped approximation to a sine wave UPS. You would need to get a pure sinewave UPS to avoid that problem. They're more expensive.

So the newer one would work with my psu? Also do you think a UPS is worth it?
