Hi I'm new here just need some advice on getting a new cpu n see whether or not it's worth getting dual core as this is my first upgrade in 5yrs =/

Is dual core better for gaming and are there alot of diff between dual core 3800, 4400 and 4800? Bcoz i see the benchmark of the cpu and AMD64 3800+ are better than most of the dual cores except for 4800 in some of the applications without multitasking. And also what brand of ram should i get? kingston sounds ok? or should i get OC since alot of ppl seems to be using this brand but i wont be doing any overclocking?

Sorry for being noob but just need some advice :(

Dual core is definately the way to go and the X2 3800 would work fine. As far as RAM goes, I prefer to use either Corsair XMS series or Crucial Ballistix.

thx ^^ now i decided to get dual core but will it be worth getting 4400 instead of 3800. Will it limit the graphic card performance? i'll be getting XFX 7900GT xxx

Well, if your considering the 4400, then I would get an opteron 165 and overclock it. I've got mine overclocked to darn near FX60 specs and it's very impressive.

On the other hand, if overclocking is not your style, then yes, the 4400 would be worth it and I would get it.

yeh so probably i will stick to 4400 coz the reason i'll get XFX graphic card is that it's already overclocked n u still get warranty :D
