First of all my PC is old... I mean 8 years old. I have done all the upgrades to this toaster and I've decided it is time to retire it or sell it off. Right now playing games on this old intel dual core cpu is a nightmare, games stutter and chokes... cpu cores hitting 100% gpu usage dropping below 50% fps dropping too. Bottleneck.
I have been saving for a budget build right now [I already have a new 1TB HDD, a new gpu, and a new PSU] and I have been watching the new i3 4+ series performance in gaming I was impressed. Then some AMD guys told me to get the 6 series since it has freaking 6 CORES.... 6 CORES and I was like noway? oh yes. They sent me a video of GTA V running on all 6 cores paired with a 750 ti on High 50fps @_@ I also watched FX 6 vs i3 on Battlefield 4.... the i3 was jumping up and down in terms of processing? the FX just maintained smoothly? I do apologize for the childish remarks I am not well educated with this... what I do know is that more and more games are demanding more cores and four cores may not be enough in the future. The i3 has the same price as the hexacore but has more singlecore performance? what the hell does that mean and why would I need it? the only game that I know that needs single core performance is Torchlight II? and the i3 is also a dual core with hyper threading? I'm sick of dual cores >_< but people told me to invest on intel because they are great which I agree but a freaking hexacore cpu?
Or... should I wait for 2017 and see what new CPU's AMD and Intel has to offer?
